  • CEO

    Mr. Abdo is the CEO and President of Abdo Development, a District of Columbia development and construction company that has built its reputation as a pioneering, innovative developer of award-winning residential, commercial, hospitality and retail development. Founded by Mr. Abdo in 1996, the company has a strong philosophy in smart growth and adaptive reuse.

    To date, the company has completed over thirty significant development projects, totaling nearly one billion dollars and approximately 2 million square feet, and has received critical acclaim from both the community and the press for its responsible approach to development and is considered a leader in the renewal of Washington’s historic districts.

    Mr. Abdo currently sits on the boards of Old Dominion National Bank, American Near East Refugee Aid (Anera) and is also an Honorary Trustee of Arena Stage.

    A long-time D.C. resident, Mr. Abdo also served as a board member and chair of the Development Committee for the Washington Convention & Sports Authority Board, which was responsible for the development of the $537 million convention center hotel. 

    Mr. Abdo has been the recipient of numerous awards, including TransWestern Trendsetter of the Year, Washingtonian Magazine’s Washingtonian of the Year, Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year, and CEO of the Year from SmartCEO Magazine.

  • COO

    Gordon is the Chief Operating Officer and Partner of Abdo Development and all its affiliated companies.

    Gordon is an instrumental leader for Abdo Development’s project acquisition, contract negotiation, debt and equity negotiation and project supervision for all real estate and investment ventures. In addition, Gordon is responsible for all financial aspects of the Company.

    Prior to his tenure with Abdo Development, Gordon spent approximately seven years with Aronson & Company a top 50 accounting firm in the nation. Gordon was a Senior Manager in the Audit and Accounting practice during his tenure with Aronson & Company. He specialized in the real estate industry, working with real estate developers, property managers and specialty finance companies.

    Prior to his public accounting career, Gordon worked with Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman managing the 100 Professional Corporations that were partners to the partnership.

    Gordon earned a Masters of Business Administration degree and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in finance from East Carolina University. He has also been a Certified Public Account in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

  • PROPERTY MANAGER

    Taylor is the Property Manager for Abdo Development and all its affiliated companies.

    Taylor manages all assets in the Abdo portfolio, both residential and commercial. Such responsibilities include leasing, day-to-day property management, and overseeing all maintenance and renovation projects. Additionally, Taylor assists with new construction project bids and site supervision.

    Prior to Abdo Development, Taylor worked for a U.S. Senator from Arkansas on policy including Veterans Affairs and Environmental items.

    Taylor is a graduate of the College of Charleston where he earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration and minored in political science.

  • OFFICE MANAGER

    Hector has a multi-faceted position as the Office Manager, Assistant Property Manager and Executive liaison for Abdo Development and its officers. In this role Hector is responsible for the day-to-day management of the office operations as well as regular property management duties.

    He is a native Washingtonian who has lived in the historic neighborhood of Mt. Pleasant for 40 years. He is bilingual and fluent in Spanish.

    Prior to joining Abdo Development, Hector spent 15 years with Covington & Burling LLP in their Procurement Department. He had a significant role expanding the offices and managing various projects. In addition, he worked closely with Senior Partners at the firm.
